Mu Cang Chai Trekking Adventure Tour Schedule
Departing from Hanoi’s Old Quarter, you’ll travel about 2 hours to Duong Lam, an ancient village recognized by UNESCO since 2006. With houses ranging from 100 to 400 years old, the village is filled with temples and gardens honoring two kings who defended Vietnam against a Chinese invasion 1,200 years ago. Spend 2-4 hours exploring before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.Next, you’ll travel through rural landscapes, transitioning from rice paddies to towering karst formations surrounded by tea and maize fields. Finally, reach Nghia Lo, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional White Thai homestay.
Wake up early for a peaceful bicycle ride through the paddy fields, witnessing villagers start their day surrounded by ducks, chickens, pigs, and buffalo. Enjoy breakfast with a view of the fields before checking out and traveling over the stunning Khau Pha Mountain Pass, with spectacular rice fields of Tu Le along the way.
After lunch, continue to Nam Co Village to see the Flower H’mong in their vibrant traditional costumes. If it’s market day, you’ll also visit the local market. Then, head to La Pan Tan and Mam Soi for a short 3km walk offering breathtaking views of the rice fields. Finally, return to Kim Noi village for an overnight stay at Ecobungalow.

Enjoy breakfast outdoors with a view of the fields before heading to the trekking point. Begin your trek on the Dragon Spine trail, from Kim Noi to Che Cu Nha, covering 15 km of stunning terrain. This off-the-beaten-path route offers fantastic views of Mu Cang Chai’s famous rice terraces, with opportunities to visit several Hmong hill tribe villages along the way. Picnic lunch will be enjoyed among the terraces.
After the trek, a driver will pick you up and transfer you back to the Ecolodge for an overnight stay.

After breakfast at the ecolodge, enjoy a relaxing morning at your leisure, taking in the beautiful valley views or spending time with the family at the homestay. After lunch, we will drive you back to Hanoi, where it will be time to say our farewells.
