Tour Overview
Embark on a scenic trek through the iconic rice terraces of Sapa, led by one of our knowledgeable local guides. This journey takes you through three culturally rich villages inhabited by the Hmong, Giay, and Red Dao ethnic groups. Along the way, you'll witness breathtaking views of mountain valleys and follow the paths beside Sapa’s most prominent river.
Not only will you admire the stunning rice terraces that have made Sapa famous, but you'll also gain insight into the daily lives, customs, and traditions of the ethnic communities. Learn about the Hmong people’s unique practices, including their traditional marriage customs, farming methods, and house-building techniques—making this more than just a trek, but a cultural experience you won’t forget.
Itinerary
Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM, when our friendly local guide greets you at your hotel in Sapa Town or in front of the main church. After a short introduction, we’ll set off on a 2-kilometer walk along the road to Cat Cat Village, home to the Hmong ethnic group.
From there, you’ll cross the hanging bridge over the Muong Hoa River and gradually hike uphill through the stunning landscapes of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. As you ascend, be prepared to witness some of the most breathtaking rice terraces in Vietnam and soak in panoramic mountain views.
The trek continues to Y Linh Ho Village, where we’ll stop for a traditional lunch prepared by a local Hmong family. After a refreshing break, the journey carries on to Lao Chai Village, where you’ll meet the Black Hmong people, followed by a visit to Ta Van Village, home to the Giay ethnic minority.
Throughout the trek, your guide will share unique insights into the customs, lifestyles, and cultural differences between the local ethnic groups. The tour concludes around 3:30 PM in Sapa Town, giving you plenty of time to catch a bus or transfer to your next destination.
